VAR przyszłości?” Wystarczy tylko jedna kamera! 🎥⚽

VAR of the future? Just one camera is enough! 🎥⚽

In the world of football, where every second and every centimeter can decide the outcome of a match, technology is playing an increasingly important role. The latest scientific findings could completely revolutionize the way we analyze offside—one of the most controversial and hotly debated situations in football.

Scientists have developed an innovative system that enables precise offside detection using just a single camera 🎥 . Previously, VAR required an advanced technological setup consisting of more than a dozen cameras positioned around the stadium, as well as a team of specialists analyzing each replay from multiple angles. The new system eliminates this problem.

Thanks to the use of advanced artificial intelligence algorithms and 3D image analysis, the technology can precisely determine players' positions, movements, and the timing of passes—all in real time. Importantly, the entire process relies on a single, well-positioned camera, significantly reducing system implementation costs.

This solution could be particularly beneficial for lower leagues, amateur teams, and youth teams that lack the budget to fully support VAR. Furthermore, accelerating the decision-making process will positively impact the pace of play, reducing interruptions and controversy related to waiting for referee decisions.

Although the technology is still in the testing phase, initial results are promising. There's already talk of a pilot implementation of the system in several European leagues for the 2025/26 season.

Are we witnessing the birth of a new era in football refereeing? ⏱️⚖️ Everything points to it. If the tests are successful, perhaps in just a few years every match – even those at the local Orlik stadium – will be able to utilize technology that until recently seemed to be the domain of only the world's largest stadiums.
