The Iconic Scorpion Kick

Tigres Femenil star Lizbeth Ovalle created a moment of magic and scored a goal that will surely be a candidate for goal of the year.

Following a cross from Jennifer Hermoso, Ovalle – with her back to goal – incredibly executed a stunning reverse scorpion kick, looping the ball over the keeper and under the crossbar to give her team a 1-0 lead with less than 20 minutes remaining.

Her incredible strike proved crucial, setting the pace of the game as Tigres cruised to a 2-0 victory.

Ovalle, however, doesn’t want to call his goal a “scorpion” – he prefers to be called a “shrimp.” 🦐
