The Return of Faisal Halim: Courage in its Purest Form
Share
In May 2024, the world of Malaysian football came to a standstill. Faisal Halim, a national team player and one of the most promising prospects, was the victim of a brutal acid attack. He suffered fourth-degree burns to his neck, arm, hands, and chest. He spent three weeks in the hospital and underwent four surgeries.
For many, this would be the end of their careers. For Faisal, it was the beginning of a new struggle.
For 17 months, we hadn't seen him on the pitch. He silently fought his hardest battle: for health, fitness, a return to normalcy. And finally, the moment arrived – Halim donned the Malaysian national team jersey again and… scored a phenomenal free-kick from 25 meters.
It wasn't just a goal. It was a manifesto. A symbol of courage and strength of spirit.
Faisal not only returned. He showed that no tragedy can break a true warrior.
Welcome back, Faisal. The football world has missed you.
